Notice period: Slovakia
Work out the last day of the job after a resignation or a notice from the employer. Country: Slovakia — counted under its labour law.
This is the statutory minimum. A contract or a collective agreement may set a longer period, and then that one applies.
Choose both dates: when the job started and when the document was handed over.
How service changes the period
The table for the option chosen above. Your row is highlighted.
| Service | Period |
|---|---|
| From the first day | 1 month |
| from 1 year | 2 months |
Probation
The longest probation the law allows is 3 months. For managers: 6 months.
During probation the job can be ended at once — no notice period applies.
How it works: Slovakia
The period starts on the first day of the following month and ends on the last day of a month. The day the notice lands therefore makes no difference: 2 and 31 March give the same answer. Three months exists only for redundancy, closure, relocation or loss of capacity to work; on any other ground the maximum is two months.
Notice can be barred or postponed: sick leave, pregnancy, parental leave, care of a child, military service. The calculator cannot see any of that — if it is your case, take legal advice.
Not covered: termination by agreement, immediate dismissal, fixed-term contracts, severance pay, and a longer period from a contract or a collective agreement.
