Notice period: Czechia

Work out the last day of the job after a resignation or a notice from the employer. Country: Czechia — counted under its labour law.

This is the statutory minimum. A contract or a collective agreement may set a longer period, and then that one applies.

Who is giving notice

Choose both dates: when the job started and when the document was handed over.

How service changes the period

Probation

The longest probation the law allows is 4 months. For managers: 8 months.

During probation the job can be ended at once — no notice period applies.

How it works: Czechia

Since 1 June 2025 the period starts on the day of hand-over and ends on the day with the same number: handed over on 15 March, the job ends on 15 May. Before that it waited for the first day of the next month, and many sites still print the old rule. The length does not depend on service.

Notice can be barred or postponed: sick leave, pregnancy, parental leave, care of a child, military service. The calculator cannot see any of that — if it is your case, take legal advice.

Not covered: termination by agreement, immediate dismissal, fixed-term contracts, severance pay, and a longer period from a contract or a collective agreement.
