Foreign nationals with permanent residence in Bratislava can vote on 24 October

On Saturday, 24 October 2026, Bratislava will hold simultaneous elections for municipal bodies and the Bratislava self-governing region. Voting will take place from 7:00 to 20:00 at polling stations according to the voter’s place of permanent residence.

Foreign nationals may also vote if they have permanent residence in Bratislava and are at least 18 by election day. At the polling station, they must present an identity document or residence card. In the city, voters will elect the mayor, city councillors, borough mayors, borough councillors, and the chair and councillors of the region. Voter certificates are not issued: voting rights depend on permanent residence. Bratislava specifically notes that people without trvalý pobyt in the city cannot vote there.
