Romaniaʼs 2026/2027 school year runs from 7 September to 18 June

The 2026/2027 school year in Romania began on 7 September 2026 and is due to end on 18 June 2027. It lasts 36 teaching weeks in general. Classes end on 4 June for daytime Grade 12 and evening or part-time Grade 13, and on 11 June for Grade 8.

The programmes “School Otherwise” and “Green Week” are to take place between 7 September 2026 and 23 April 2027. A one-week holiday, with the date chosen by county inspectorates or the Bucharest inspectorate, will be scheduled between 15 February and 7 March 2027 after consultation with pupils, parents and teachers.
