More than 600 Lisbon students placed in schools after shortage of places

More than 600 students in Lisbon municipality were administratively assigned to schools after a seven-hour emergency meeting involving the Education Ministry, school groups and the education-system management agency. The placements were made possible by expanding class sizes.

The education minister had said hundreds of children still lacked places and some schools were refusing students. According to RTP, the problem remains unresolved nationwide, while 163,000 pupils are missing at least one teacher.
