Portugal's AIMA reports an increase of more than 60% in appointments

Portugal's Agency for Integration, Migration and Asylum, AIMA, reported that in the first half of 2026 the number of appointments actually completed in its offices rose by more than 60% compared with the same period of 2025. The agency links this to work reorganisation and greater service capacity.

According to AIMA, complaints in relation to appointments actually completed fell by 35.8%, while the average complaint rate fell from 6.9% in 2025 to 2.7% in 2026. In the first half of the year the agency also joined the electronic Livro Amarelo, which adds a digital channel for complaints and submissions. AIMA says its offices received an average of about 32 compliments per month.
