Poland expands electronic monitoring of medical queues and central e-registration

From 1 October 2026, Poland’s AP KOLCE electronic queue-monitoring system will cover 15 additional groups of hospital procedures, including coronary angiography, pacemaker implantation, knee arthroscopy and tonsil surgery. The NFZ will receive current data on patient numbers and waiting times, detect duplicate bookings, and patients are to receive SMS reminders.

The government is also accelerating central e-registration, which is planned to cover 40 areas of healthcare by the end of 2027. Patients and providers should see the same information on available appointments, making it easier to reuse cancelled slots.
