Almost half of Ukrainians in the Netherlands were working four months after arrival

Statistics Netherlands reports that 46% of Ukrainians in the study group had paid work four months after arrival. Among those who were still living in the country at that point, the rate was 50%.

Many initially worked through temporary employment agencies. Six months after arrival, 47% of workers had an agency contract, 27% had a direct contract with an employer and 26% had an on-call contract. After two years, the share with direct contracts had risen to 44%, while agency work had fallen to 33%.

Six months after arrival, 47% of employed people worked full time. Agency work and accommodation and food services were the most common early sectors. The figures show an overall trend and do not guarantee employment in an individual case.
