The directory gathers Ukrainian and Ukrainian-speaking businesses, professionals and services in the city you are in. Searching is free and needs no account, and every listing shows contacts, opening hours, the languages spoken and what other people made of the place.

Search that understands Ukrainian

  • Type in Ukrainian, in Latin script or in the local language — the search finds the same place either way.
  • Or go by city and category: every combination has a page of its own.
  • Every filter lives in the address of the page, so a result is a link you can send to somebody.

The map, and what is open right now

  • Every listing with an address is pinned, and moving the map narrows the list beside it.
  • “Open now” is worked out on the country’s own clock, not on yours.
  • “Nearest” sorts by distance when your browser already knows where you are — and your position never leaves the device.

What visitors reported

  • The review form asks two questions nobody else asks: were you served in Ukrainian, and how many days did you wait?
  • The answers are gathered onto the listing, so you can see the experience of the people who went before you.
  • A crowd answer never edits a mark: when the answers disagree, the line is withheld and the listing goes back to our team.

Every guide shows the date our editors last reviewed it, and after 90 days a warning that you should check the requirements yourself.

Reviews you can trust

Only from signed-in accounts

A review needs an account, and one person leaves one review per business. You can keep your name off the page; the account behind the review stays.

One public reply

The owner may answer once, in public, under the review. They cannot delete it.

Anything can be reported

Report a review once you are signed in; a business that has closed, moved or shows the wrong number can be reported with no account at all.

Community requests

  • Ask when the directory has no answer: what you are looking for, in which city, in which category.
  • Anyone can reply and recommend a particular business — and you hear about every answer by email.
  • The thread stays as a page, so the next person looking for the same thing finds the answer instead of asking again.

Events and plans

Find upcoming concerts, film screenings, meetups and trips. The homepage shows the nearest events; the Events page adds search and categories. The heart saves an event to your favourites; every event has its own page on UA Near, and tickets open on the organizer’s or source website. The homepage prioritizes Ukrainian cultural and community events in the next 60 days, complemented by notable local events. After signing in and confirming your email, you can suggest a local event and attach a poster to it. Our team reviews the event before publication. If something is wrong with an event — it was cancelled, the address is muddled, the poster is somebody else’s — report it right from its page, even without an account. You can read news on UA Near: we prepare detailed Ukrainian retellings that preserve important details. If a retelling is not ready yet, the link opens the source. You see events and news in the language you are reading the site in: we translate their text automatically, and where a translation is not ready yet, you see it in Ukrainian. In countries where we run a weekend roundup, «Where to go this weekend» comes out every Thursday: events, places, and useful info for Ukrainians. Subscribers also get it by email. My UA Near keeps private lists of businesses and updates from followed cities, businesses and organizers. Discovery remains available without an account.

“Ukrainian owned” is optional: you can tick it when adding a business, and its owner can set or clear it in the dashboard. Our editors can correct it. “Ukrainian spoken” follows the declared languages or the business’s own website; our editors can correct it. Only our editors decide publication and award “Verified” or the quality mark. None of the marks can be bought.

The strongest mark, dated by the year it was awarded: the documents were checked, and most listings do not carry it.

What the quality mark means

A listing carrying the UA Near quality mark has been checked by our team: we confirmed the business exists at the address it gives, that the person managing the listing is entitled to do so, and that the documents it relies on are in order.

The mark is dated by the year it was awarded, and it is not automatic — most listings on the site do not carry one. It is a separate claim from the “Verified” chip, which only says the details on a listing are correct, and from the two Ukrainian signals, which say who owns a business and which language its staff speak.

Pages an AI assistant can read

More and more people ask an AI assistant instead of a search box, and the assistant goes and reads the pages itself. So everything here that is read rather than filled in — business listings, cities and categories, events, news, guides, the pages about the project and the rules — is also available as Markdown: the same facts, without the layout. Add .md to the page address or send the header Accept: text/markdown, and the document is the same. Business contacts are not in it: on the page itself, only a button shows them.

Frequently asked questions

What is UA Near?
UA Near is a directory where Ukrainians abroad find a doctor, a lawyer, a tradesperson or a restaurant in their own city. A business’s listing shows its contacts, opening hours, the languages it works in and reviews from other people.
Do I need an account?
Not to look. Search, contacts, opening hours, reviews and the map are open to everybody. You sign in to leave a review, to open or answer a community request, or to add a business and manage it.
Why sign in with Google?
A Google account is only used to sign in — to leave a review, add your business, or manage it. We recognise you by the basic details of your profile, we post nothing on Google on your behalf, and we have no access to your mail, files or contacts. If you would rather not use Google, sign up with an email address and a password — the access is the same.
Is it free?
Yes, for both sides. Visitors pay nothing, owners pay nothing, and there is no paid placement to buy — the order of the results is decided by rules, not by money.
Which countries does it cover?
The directory started in Central Europe and opens a new country once there are enough businesses there for it to be useful. Choose a country on the homepage to see the cities and categories that are already live. If your country is not in the directory yet, request it when adding a business. We will save the listing for an administrator; it can appear after the country is approved and the business is reviewed.
Which languages is the site in?
Ten: Ukrainian, English, Slovak, Czech, German, Hungarian, French, Italian, Spanish and Russian. Ukrainian is the project’s primary language, and listing descriptions can be translated with one click.
How do businesses get in?
Some are added by their owners; the rest we find in public sources and check by hand before publishing. Nothing is published automatically, and nobody can pay to be here.
