Student parents in Czechia can receive CZK 7,467 a month

From 1 September 2026, student parents in Czechia can apply for the new Student Parent Support benefit. In 2026 it amounts to CZK 7,467 a month, equal to one third of the minimum wage. Applications can be submitted through the Jenda client portal or in person at a Czech Labour Office branch.

The benefit is intended for students who receive parental allowance, personally provide full-day care for the youngest child in the family, and study full-time at a university or in a day programme at a higher vocational school in Czechia. Applicants generally must be no older than 26 and be enrolled in their first programme of the relevant type and form. There is no age limit for a first doctoral programme.

Applicants do not need to prove the income of the student or household. Recipients also do not have to document which childcare services the money was spent on.

The school must complete a special proof-of-study form for the application; a standard student certificate is not sufficient. The programme must remain within its standard duration plus no more than one additional year. The benefit is not paid for July and August or for a month in which studies were suspended throughout. For bachelor's and most non-consecutive master's programmes, eligibility generally starts after the first 12 months of study.
