Czech inflation was 1.9% in August as fuel prices rose 7.2% in a month

Consumer prices in Czechia rose by 0.3% in August 2026 compared with July and by 1.9% year on year. Transport was the main driver of the monthly increase, as fuel and lubricant prices rose by 7.2%.

Some foods became cheaper, including fruit, vegetables, meat and bread products. Average inflation over the previous 12 months remained at 2.0%.
