Czechia: protection extension must be completed with an in-person visit by 30 September

The Information Portal for Foreigners reminds readers that extending temporary protection in Czechia has two steps. After online registration, protection is extended only until 30 September 2026. By that date, people must personally visit a Ministry of the Interior office at the time chosen during registration to receive a new visa sticker.

Only after the in-person visit is temporary protection extended until 31 March 2027. The portal warns that an appointment should be changed only for serious reasons: a new time may be unavailable, and there is no guaranteed right to a new appointment. All details about the appointment, office address and visit date can be checked in the personal account on the portal or in the confirmation email.
