Belgiumʼs employment rate stabilises at 72.8%

Around 4,943,000 people were employed in Belgium in the second quarter of 2026. The employment rate for people aged 20–64 was 72.8%, while the unemployment rate among people aged 15–64 was 6.1%. Both figures were almost unchanged from the previous quarter.

By region, the employment rate was 77.3% in Flanders, 67.6% in Wallonia and 64.7% in Brussels. It was 76.1% for men and 69.5% for women. The unemployment rate was 6.7% for men and 5.5% for women.
