Belgiumʼs net international migration was 47,562 people in 2025

Belgiumʼs international migration balance was positive by 47,562 people in 2025: 177,094 people immigrated and 129,532 emigrated. The figure was 28% lower than in 2024, when it was 66,044. Migration remained the main source of population growth because deaths exceeded births; the total population increased by 42,672, or 0.36%.

There were 9,542 Ukrainian citizens among immigrants, accounting for 5.4% of all arrivals. The corresponding figure was 12,633 in 2024 and 57,514 in 2022. Ukrainian citizens made up 4.1% of emigrants.
