Austria’s part-time employment rate rose to 32.1%

About 4.5 million people were employed in Austria in the second quarter of 2026, almost unchanged from a year earlier. However, part-time employment increased by 57,200 while full-time employment fell by 57,400, lifting the part-time rate to 32.1%.

The unemployment rate under the international definition rose to 5.7%. A total of 272,100 people were looking for work, 11,100 more than in the second quarter of 2025.
